Canon has announced the Canon EOS Rebel XS / 1000D Digital SLR Camera
The new entry-level camera comes as no surprise (it was mentioned in the DPP help file), but the date of the announcement is not within the typical January or August Canon announcement timeframes. The XS/1000D shares features with the Rebel XTi/400D and Rebel XSi/450D and will replace the XTi/400D.
